TAFTEC was formed by Carden Taft in 1999.

We have been involved in bar design, furniture design and manufacture, project management of difficult jobs, special finishes and intricate tiling.

Carden Taft

After graduating in psychology at Bristol university, I worked as an apprentice for my grandfather, Ben Romano in his workshop in White Plains NY for several years.

Grandpa had previously worked for Frank Lloyd Wright on his Usonian homes project in New York State and was a true Wright disciple. This combined a very clean line with an attention to detail bordering on the obsessive.

After working for several boutique construction firms in NY I moved back to London in 1990 where I became involved in the television industry for 10 years making documentaries.

 In 1999 I founded TAFTEC to create some specialist bar stools for a bar on Sloane Avenue and have been working in the sector ever since.
